The SalzburgerLand has a pioneering role in the European organic sector in that. About half of the agriculturally used area is farmed organically and sustainably. Organic farmers, producers and hosts see it as their task to harmonise natural activities with excellent enjoyment. Organic with a known (local) origin is regarded as premium quality and is available not only from farmers or farmers' markets (e.g. weekly/on Fridays Maximilian farmers' market in Bischofshofen), but also in supermarkets. In addition, organic food is increasingly being used in gastronomy and hotels.
The "BioParadies SalzburgerLand" product group bundles hotels, restaurants and farms that focus on regional aging and sustainability, many of which have also been included in the organic enjoyment route.
