On the Sound of Music Trail you can hike through one of the most beautiful locations of the 1965 film since 2015: the meadow where Julie Andrews sang as Maria von Trapp with the Trapp children at the picnic "DO-RE-MI". A 1.4 km long, natural path ("Kaisersteig") leads from the centre of Werfen to this panoramic hill known in the region as the "Gschwandtanger" from the tourist office in Brennhof. It is easy to walk on in about 1 hour and is equipped with signposts, worth knowing information boards and playful elements around the Trapp family. At the top of the plateau you will find benches, a specially designed photo scenery and a magnificent view over the Salzach valley and Hohenwerfen Castle.
