Tauern Cycle Path & Alps-Adria Cycle Path

Vacanza Attiva Estate Pongau

The Tauern cycle path and the Alps-Adria cycle path run the same route in Salzburg's Pongau region.
The 270 km long Tauern cycle path begins in Krimml and leads through the Salzach Valley via Bischofshofen to Salzburg (or Passau with a total length of 310 km).
The Alps-Adria cycle path begins in the city of Salzburg and leads via Bischofshofen to Carinthia and on to the Adriatic.
Mainly cycle lanes and side roads are used. The majority of the Tauern cycle path is asphalted.
The 25 km long Schwarzach - St. Johann-Alpendorf - Bischofshofen - Pfarrwerfen - Werfen section is also known as the "Sagenhafter Tauernradweg” (Legendary Tauern Cycle Path), where mysterious legends are presented on large, artistic panels.
Tourist highlights on the route in the Werfen area are the Hohenwerfen Adventure Castle, which you can see from afar, and the “Eisriesenwelt” (ice giant world) with its artistic ice figures.
