The Alpe-Adria-Trail connects the three regions of Carinthia, Slovenia and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in a total of 37 stages. This long-distance path leads from the foot of Mount Großglockner, Austria’s highest, on to Carinthia’s most beautiful mountain and lake regions and fairly directly to the vicinity of the junction of the three countries Austria, Italy, Slovenia and finally the Adriatic Sea in Trieste.
CIRCUIT OF THE 3 BORDERS
DAY 1: FEISTRITZ AN DER GAIL (AUSTRIA) - VALBRUNA
An impressive mountain chain is featured in this section of the Alpe Adria Trail. The Carnic Alps offer the passage from Austria to Italy, at the foot of Mount Oisternig along the Accomizza mountain pasture. There is then a descent into Italy reaching Camporosso and Valbruna.

DAY 2: VALBRUNA - MOUNT LUSSARI - TARVISIO
Between Valbruna and Tarvisio, the path reaches the 1790 m of Mount Lussari with the picturesque Marian Sanctuary destination of pilgrimages by the 3 peoples. There is then a descent down to the valley along the Pilgrim’s Path heading towards Camporosso by way of the "Deer Park" which proceeds along the Rio Argento promenade.

DAY 3: TARVISIO - LAKES FUSINE / FUSINE
From Tarvisio to Tarvisio Centrale station by way of the Monte Borgo promenade. Then on to the Alpe Adria cycle path and the Slizza gorge path. Still on the bike lane as far as Aclete and from there to the town of Fusine. Stop and overnight stay in Fusine or continue to the lakes and from there to the Zacchi Refuge.

DAY 4: FUSINE - KRANJSKA GORA (SLO)
Crossing the border to reach Kranjska Gora where to be shuttle transferred back to Feistritz (AUT)
