Geopark Visitor Center in Bischofshofen

In Bischofshofen, the centre and central starting point of the Geopark is located on the Ski Jump Hill & Grounds with the Visitor Centre, which opened in April 2015. Here, the participating sites present themselves in a joint exhibition with faithful installations around prehistoric and historical ore mining. As a visitor, you will be given a varied overview of the entire Geopark. Special exhibitions supplement this offer every year. The first special exhibition in 2015, under the motto "The Forged Sky", dealt with the famous bronze " Nebra Sky Disc", which is approx. 3,600 years old. The ores for this came from the Bischofshofen area.

You can also combine your visit with a ski jump tour and/or a scenic hike on the "Geotrail Waterfall Path" with almost 355 steps to the upper part of the Gainfeldbach waterfall.

The “Österreichhaus” (Austria House) with culinary delights adjacent to the Visitor Centre will only open after prior reservation or event registration.
