Gilberti Refuge

The Celso Giberti Refuge is located at the Prevala basin. You can get there from Sella Nevea by taking the Monte Canin Cable Car or the comfortable CAI 635 path (2h, T-E). The Montasio Plateau can be admired in all its splendour from the Refuge; family excursions can be taken thanks to the Bila Peč botanical trail, set inside a glacial basin surrounded by the Mount Canin range. The trail is short and easy to take; the landscape is very attractive, with impressive mountains and splendid panoramic sights.
The Refuge is a support point for interesting climbing: up Mount Canin by way of the Normale, Via delle Cenge and Julia via ferrata; up Mount Forato by way of the Normale or Via del Foro; up Carnizza Peak, Bila Pec, Mount Cenquia, Mount Sart and Mount Robon. You can also make mountain crossings from here, to the Indrinizza ridge and the Marussich and Modonutti-Savoia Bivouac Shelters. The Bila climbing gym is ten minutes away on foot.
